The EMPOWER Lab is committed not only to doing high-quality research, but also to making sure that our research is inclusive. We are also committed to helping to move the eating disorders field forward to engage in more intentional diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
Dr. Egbert recently led a study which found that only 45% of papers in a leading eating disorder journal reported information about the race and ethnicity of the research participants, and she has been an advocate for the diversification of the eating disorders field, from research to workforce.
